Sushi Wen Reviews

The sushi at Sushi Wen is always fresh and delicious. We have not had sushi in SI for a while because the other choices were just ok. When Sushi Wen opened, it was so nice to have such a delicious and pleasant experience. Order anything on the menu, it will be delicious. Our kids love coming here too, the staff remembers them and even remembers our daughters allergies. They have gluten free soy sauce, just have to ask. An item was left out of a delivery order and they called us before we even noticed, sent the driver back out and added a scoop of ice cream for our kids-because they remember and appreciate their customers.

Excellent experience today, sashimi tasted very fresh, mackerel was an excellent choice l, yellowtail rolls, and tuna were very tasty and the restaurant has a very cozy feel to it.

Absolutely fantastic food, everything i had tasted was top notch. Fried rice one of the best, chicken teriyaki dish very tasty. I Don’t eat raw fish so cannot comment on that quality but by the looks of the presentation it looks as it could be good for those that enjoy it.

Review for Valentines Dinner order, delivery was over an hour, closer to one in a half, but the restaurant did let us know that they were very very busy and very sorry for the delay probably because of Valentine’s Day. I was not planning on writing a review and very seldomly do, but I just had to. This has been the best sushi we ever had delivered to our house in west Brighton. I just hope it’s not a place that starts going through chef changes like many places do, this is my reason for the review, each and every item we tasted was so delicious fresh crisp flavor, it was just a breath of fresh air. Salmon, tuna, philidalphia rolls were so good as well as the sashimi platter for two. I have not had such an enjoyable sushi experience from a restaurant , especially on busy night in forever. Previously our options were limited to a few nearby places such as Kyoto and 3 guys serving just run off the mill sushi, sushi wen is on a complete different level and the price is very close to the standard places. We spent maybe 5 or 6 dollars more than we do st 3 guys but the quality is non comparible.

There was no Japanese restaurant in this neighborhood so, when I saw this one being built over a period of many weeks, I anxiously awaited its opening. It was worth the wait. Sushi Wen is a lovely little restaurant. The outside has a very attractive Asian motif and they have thoughtfully included a wheelchair ramp. The inside of the restaurant is very pretty as well. The menu is large and varied. A very tasty seaweed salad was the appetizer. A shashimi dinner entrée served with a very fresh mixed green salad was excellent, with a good quantity and variety of fish that was artfully presented. Several pieces of sushi à la carte were also very good. All of the fish was extremely fresh and flavorful. A chirashi entrée, sashimi served with an ample portion of bonito rice, was excellent as well. The owners are extremely pleasant and make you feel at home. They also deliver which is a plus. I will definitely visit them again and would recommend them to anyone who would enjoy a Japanese meal and a quiet and pleasant atmosphere.

This is not a regular staten island japanese restaurant, the quality here is better than any of the restaurants that offer delivery to our house including bay house and 3 guys sushi. The rolls are filling and the sushi tastes really good, special rolls are excellent.

How we ended up here nobody knows, but this will surely be my regular stop in when I visit nyc, top 5 sushi restaurants in the world. A little restaurant in Staten Island is serving king salmon fish like I have never tasted before. It is pure excellence as is everything else we had ordered. We will be back Wen, we will be back soon.
